About

Hello! I'm Sharni, an art psychotherapist based in Brisbane, Australia and I specialise in helping individuals deepen their awareness of and connection with self, to better understand their emotions, thoughts, patterns and beliefs, to make meaning of their experiences and to utilise skills and creative processes to enrich their perspective to make meaningful changes in their life.

Art is transformative, and arts psychotherapy is an invitation to use various modes of creative modalities alongside counselling and other therapies to express feelings, sensations and experiences which may include, visual art, movement, drama, sound, storytelling  and creative writing.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed. I integrate expressive, creative modalities throughout my work, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. This means creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental therapeutic space—where compassion, trust, and collaboration are at the core of our work together. In this space, you are gently supported to explore your emotions, thoughts, sensations, and experiences through art-making processes.

These creative explorations can help you gain new insights, develop emotional regulation tools, deepen your connection with self, and feel more grounded in your own story. Together, we work at your pace, empowering you to expand your capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change.
